GEORGE NEWS - A new upmarket nightclub, Mzanzi Lounge, opened its doors in Courtenay Street, where Zanzibar used to be.
The upper-class nightclub boasts two bars, a spacious dance floor to keep you on your feet and a VIP lounge that you can visit on Fridays and Saturdays to enjoy house music.
Sundays you can enjoy jazz and live bands. All three evenings the dress code is strictly semi-formal.
Other hang-outs in Courtenay Street include Cactus, Tarantino's and Mujo. Towards the bottom end of York street you will find VBar, JD's and Shenanigans. The latter occasionally also offers live music.
Shenanigans is a vibey pub with occasional live music.
